Good morning, and welcome to this week’s issue of Africa AI News – Weekly News Digest.
Morocco has developed a sense of urgency around driving it’s tech-forward programmes ahead of the 2030 Football World Cup, which is co-hosted by Span, Portugal and Morocco.
This is a good plan, as World Cup events attract a vast amount of attention to host nations, which then use it as a springboard to drive investment and interest in their economies. With only five short years to go, Morocco is racing to have something globally relevant in the high tech and AI space.
There’s also some movement in startup funding, with money now moving into small pioneering tech firms that have a good story to tell.
On with this week’s issue!
